Celeste was one of twenty-one fiberglass bears that underwent creative modification by local artists in the Grants Pass. OR area.
The bears were then placed throughout the downtown area for all to see and enjoy.
At Summer's end all 21 bears were publically auctioned off with proceeds going to local charitable organizations.
Celeste had a great time with the whole thing. But then that's the kinda bear she is.

She arrives, wrapped in blue upon a wooden pallet. Having come all the way from Belfast, Maine.

Celeste's original look is primer black.

We cut an access through her base and make our plans.

Nancy (peering out from within Celestes tummy)has become one with the inner Celeste. Creating possibilites on top of possibilities.

All of Celeste's fiber optics must be glued in place... it's sticky work at times.

It takes hours for her glue to set. Then she is rotated and another section is glued. Celeste doesn't seem to mind and sleeps through most of it.

And she is finished, behold Celeste L. Bear.

Celeste's summer was spent in front of the Grants Pass Visitors Center. A wonder to see at night.
At auction Celeste raised $9,500 for her charity.
Way to go Celeste, and the same goes for the FLI crew that made the possibility of Celeste a reality.
