Instructions for changing a lamp in an FLI Illuminator.
Illuminator access is generally through the back of the display or through access panels in the sides.
CAUTION: Disconnect the unit from power before servicing. |

Step 1 | | | lamp in socket & carriage | |
The lamp sits within a socket on the Illuminator chassis. |
Step 2
Next to the lamp, and part of the carriage, is a lever.
Step 3
Pulling back on this lever will lift the lamp up within its socket, making it easier to remove. |
Step 4
Lift out and discard the old lamp from the socket and carriage. |
Step 5
Push the carriage lever back to its original position to insure the new lamp will seat properly within the socket. Skipping this step could prevent the new lamp from lighting properly or cause the lamp socket to fail prematurely. |
Step 6
Slide the new lamp into the socket carriage until the lamp pins contact that top of the socket. |
Step 7
You may have to pull back on the ceramic socket for the lamp pins to enter their slots. Make sure both lamp pins are over both slots in the socket. |
Step 8
Push downward on the lamp until it is fully seated within the socket & carriage. |
Step 9
Reinstall the display back or access panel and reconnect the unit to power. |
